'Within Reach' is handcrafted with care & built from real hardwood one piece at a time in our small family workshop. Each board is carefully selected, joined, planed, shaped, and sanded to highlight the natural beauty and character of the wood grain. Made from premium wood of your choice from six beautiful wood species:
• Walnut
• Cherry
• Maple
• Oak
• Ambrosia Maple
• Knotty Pine
Every board is unique, so grain and color will naturally vary — that’s part of what makes handmade wood products special.

There will be a perfectly top centered keyhole slot on the back for mounting to a wall. All hardware will be included for mounting into drywall. All species of the hardwood options will be finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C in Pure color. The knotty pine will be stained with Minwax fruitwood and then a clearcoat finish. The Story Behind “Within Reach”
In 1994, a high school graduation gift was given to one of our owners by a very sweet woman named Mimi. It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t trendy. It was a handmade wooden tool organizer. Mimi gave it to us after her brother Joe built it over 30 years ago in Cheyenne, Wyoming. What Mimi gave wasn’t just wood and pegs — it was something meant to last. And it still does. That organizer has lived with our family ever since. It has made eight moves — including two military relocations — traveling from Wyoming to North Carolina, back to Wyoming, Kansas, and now Florida. Through every house, every season, every stage of life… it was always there. Within reach. It has held replacement hammers and new screwdrivers over the years. The same original pliers still remain. It has been repainted to match changing kitchens and mudrooms. It has seen kids grow up and homes change. See "Mimi's Original" photo. Most recently, it answered the urgent backyard call during a pool filter mishap: “Get me the pliers!” And they were right where they were supposed to be. Within reach. When we began dreaming about what kind of products we wanted to build for our small business, the answer was already hanging on the wall. We don’t believe in disposable. We don’t believe in cutting corners. We believe in building things that move with families — across states, across decades. So it is with great honor that we dedicate this piece to the late Mimi and her brother Joe — and to the kind of craftsmanship that quietly stands the test of time. This is why we chose solid hardwood. This is why we refuse to skimp on materials. This is why we build it to last.
